Edmonton weather: Overcast, gusty and a chance of showers

Article content

Currently, it’s 8 C at the Edmonton Blatchford station, with 17 km/h winds coming out of the east southeast.

Today could potentially see some showers. This is exactly what we need to start to see some green grass start to show up.

We will see the wind start to pick up around noon. We are expecting likes from 20 km/h to 40.

I’m excited to see and hear the signs of spring all around. I can see the buds on the tree in the backyard have started to burst. The frogs in the pond at the park have started to sing their chorus of croaks and a great blue heron, that has nested nearby each year, has been spotted on a number of occasions swooping in for a snack.

Though today may not be as gorgeous weather-wise, the signs of spring are everywhere and that’s pretty great!
