More than a year after a man was found dead in the North Saskatchewan River Valley, Edmonton police are seeking the public’s help in identifying his remains.

The remains of an unidentified man were found on October 4, 2020 in a camp in the Victoria Park area.

Edmonton police said his body was not found during the River Valley Annual Livestock, which took place the same week and are being conducted to locate any missing persons or potential human remains.

Edmonton police said Tuesday that in the nearly 16 months since then, investigators have exhausted all means to identify the man – including comparing his remains with outstanding missing files – but have had no success.

EPS has teamed up with RCMP forensic artist Cpl. Jean Nault to create a facial reconstruction, in the hope that someone can come forward with information that could lead to the man’s identity. (See below)
