Edmonton Elks Extends Defensive End Contract Simmons – Edmonton | The Canadian News

The Edmonton Elks on Monday signed U.S. defense team Antonio Simmons for a contract extension for the 2022 CFL season.

Simmons was traded to the Elks on October 17, 2021 by the Montreal Alouettes in exchange for fullback Trevor Harris.

Simmons played nine games last season, including four with the Elks, and scored 14 defensive tackles, three full-back pockets and one dive for a loss.

The Elks also signed U.S. defender Tyree Robinson on Monday who signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2018 as an undefeated free agent and made their regular season list in five games.

The University of Oregon product also spent the San Francisco 49ers in 2019 before coming to the CFL for a spin with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger Cats.
