Driver Faces Charges After Hitting East Hamilton Left Pedestrian Critically Injured – Hamilton | The Canadian News

A Hamilton man faces charges related to a hit-and-run on the city’s eastern edge earlier this week.

Hamilton police say it happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when a pickup truck driver lost control of his vehicle while driving down Mount Albion Road, north of Hixon Road.

According to investigators, the vehicle rolled onto the sidewalk and struck a 55-year-old woman.

He remains in critical condition in the hospital.

Police say the driver of the van exited the vehicle and spoke to some witnesses before fleeing on foot onto Lawrence Road, leaving the vehicle behind.

On Thursday, the driver turned himself in to the police.

The 52-year-old Hamilton man is charged with dangerous driving and causing bodily harm, failing to stay, causing bodily harm and failing to serve probation.
