Driver dies after her car flips and hits tree in Ste-Mélanie


Police say early indications suggest the woman lost control of her vehicle on a curve.

A driver in her 20s died of injuries suffered Sunday morning in Ste-Mélanie, 70 kilometers north of Montreal in the Lanaudière region.

The crash happened around 6:30 pm on Route 348 near Rang St-Albert.

The Sûreté du Québec said early indications suggest the woman lost control of her vehicle on a curve and the vehicle flipped several times before hitting a tree.

The road was closed for several hours. A collision investigator was sent to better understand the causes of the crash.
