Officials with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office have chosen not to pursue the case or press charges after the Liddells were allegedly involved in a physical confrontation, which led to Chuck behind bars.
In filing for divorce on Friday, Chuck insisted that he was not the abuser and claimed that his wife suffers from mental health problems.
According to new legal documents obtained by The Blast, Chuck said: “I was a victim of the incident … at our family home, as the details of the case will reveal. The deputies informed me that they would arrest my wife, as I did not respond to her assault while suffering bruises and lacerations. I offered to go instead.
“This was one of many times that I tried to protect a family mental health problem from the public realm. It has become painfully evident that this cannot continue, as our private lives have reached a public tipping point. Please respect our privacy as I help our family through this difficult time. “
The separated couple share two children.
