The Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) filed a complaint with the Longueuil agglomeration police service (SPAL) after the appearance of QR codes on election posters in the riding of Marie-Victorin, in Montérégie.

These QR codes lead to pages where information is displayed, some of which is true and some of which is false, and where each party’s name has been changed.
Thus, Québec solidaire appeared under the name of “Québec pas solidaire”, the Parti Québécois (PQ) under the name of “Parti anti-Québécois”, the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) became the “Coalition sans avenir du Québec” and the PLQ is transformed into the “Non-Liberal Party of Quebec”.
These codes are found on the posters of most parties, but not on those of the candidate of the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) Anne Casabonne.
Asked about this coincidence, the party leader, Éric Duhaime, denounced this form of vandalism.
“I condemn any form of vandalism, that’s not how you win an election,” he told TVA Nouvelles.
The PQ has confirmed that it is also considering filing a complaint with the SPAL, just like the CAQ.
The parties also intend to ask the Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec (DGEQ) to look into what is happening in the riding of Marie-Victorin.
