Dismembered woman in Toronto: victim’s son charged


Toronto police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found dismembered in a trash bag Monday afternoon in the Leslieville neighborhood.

The body of Tien Ly, 46, from the Ontario capital, was found near the intersection of Eastern and Berkshire avenues. According to the police, his body showed obvious signs of trauma, including dismemberments.

On Wednesday, investigators said they were looking to locate her 20-year-old son, Dallas Ly, saying they were concerned for his health and safety.

The young man was finally arrested on Saturday and charged with second degree murder. He appeared in court virtually on Sunday, Toronto police said.

Mr. Ly has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear again on Friday, according to the Toronto Star.
