MIGRATION. Thousands of Haitian immigrants crossed the southern border / EFE
A group of congressional Democrats met with officials from the Biden administration to express their dissatisfaction with the treatment by border agents of Haitian immigrants located on the southern border.

- Nine members of the Congressional Black Caucus said they plan to respond to Customs and Border Protection actions from Congress.
- Joyce Beatty, Shelia Jackson Lee, Barbara Lee, Gregory Meeks, Troy Carter, Hakeem Jeffries, Yvette Clarke, Ritchie Torres and Steven Horsford are the officers that make up the group.
What do they say?: In a statement, the group requested “the public disclosure of the results of the investigation and the call for the removal of Customs and Border Protection agents identified in photographs on horseback that brutalize migrants.”
- “The Congressional Black Caucus is committed to supporting blacks in the diaspora and we pledge our support to the people of Haiti,” the Democrats added.
- “We are hopeful of increased US support, including development aid and logistical resources to help with the recovery from the earthquake and pandemic in Haiti,” he concluded.
