General Manager Jim Benning thanked 23-year-old Juolevi for “his years of service to the Canucks organization” and wished him well.

Juolevi was the Canucks’ first draft pick in 2016, but has fallen through the pecking order ever since as a left-side defender.

No favors were done on this training ground when he lay down on the ice to recover after a particularly grueling skating.

Juolevi skated in four preseason games but hadn’t been seen in practice with the main group for days, sparking trade rumors.

Benning said Juulsen, 24, skated in four games with the Panthers last season and recorded eight points (including two goals) and 10 penalty minutes in 48 regular-season NHL games divided between the Florida Panthers and the Los Angeles. Montreal Canadiens.
