Day with mixed closures for grains

Soybeans and corn closed higher in the session on Thursday. The price of the former rose 1.78%, on the Chicago Stock Exchange, to settle at 16.47 dollars per bushel, while corn increased 0.23% to 7.58 dollars.

Grain futures were buoyed by falling South American production and steady export sales in the United States.

Wheat futures were the only ones to fall Thursday on the Chicago Stock Exchange, losing 1.68% to end at 10.23 dollars a bushel, following the monthly report on supply and demand from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), to be published on Friday. It is expected to reflect the impact of the war in Ukraine and planting trends in the United States. (With information from agencies).
