Day of the Dead will generate an economic spill of more than 4,000 million pesos in CDMX

For the Day of the Dead festivities, an economic spill of more than 4,000 million pesos is projected for Mexico City, reported Fadlala Akabani Hneide, holder of the Secretary of Economic Development (Sedeco) local.

He specified that this amount is projected because it is expected that 100 million pesos will be generated for the commercialization of the marigold flower, while 848 million for the tourist activity, as well as 2,385 million for the placement of offerings in homes.

Also, it is estimated that 1,096 million pesos belong to the sale of seasonal consumables and 496 million to the assistance of citizens to different cultural activities.

“The celebration of Day of the Dead, considered Intangible Cultural Heritage of HumanityIt also marks one of the most important dates of the year in terms of wholesale and retail sales where all economic sectors from primary to tertiary, as well as their value chains are involved ”, he explained.

The head of the agency remarked that micro and small businesses will also benefit from the economic synergy that marks the Day of the Dead, specifically for sales in stores such as stationers, bakeries and miscellaneous.

Other factors that were taken into account for this projection, revealed the secretary, were the implementation of the Plan of Economic Reactivation, added to the advance of National Vaccination Plan.

The recovery of the economic dynamics of all the productive sectors of the capital is evident, a situation that will improve towards the end of 2021 ”, he commented.
