Crude oil is 10% below the forecast of the Treasury

In the average of the first 11 months of the year, the allocations of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and the contracts held by private individuals alone or in association with the state company registered an oil extraction of 1,666 million barrels per day, which implies an increase of 0.10% compared to the average of the first 11 months of the previous year, a volume that is more than 10% below the expectation of 1,857 million barrels per day that the Ministry of Finance had in the average of all the year within the Income Law.

The above, after the national production of crude oil was 1,652 million barrels per day in November, with a slight increase of 0.06% compared to October and according to the latest report from the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) it increased by 1.22% compared to the same month in 2020.

This national monthly volume of extraction has been the third lowest of the year, only above that of October, when 1,651 million barrels were produced per day and that of August, in which the 11 contracts of the oil rounds, the two farmouts and the three land migrations, the Pemex contract in shallow waters of the Ek Balam fields and the assignments operated by Pemex contributed a production of 1,616 million barrels per day.

In the average of the first 11 months of the year, Pemex allocations still represent 92% of the national extraction and the rest corresponds to contracts. The average production of these allocations between January and November was 1,531 million barrels per day, reducing even in relation to last year, which presented depression in the demand of all sectors, with an annual fall of 1% compared to the average for the first 11 months of 2020.

In November, the extraction of these allocations was 1.501 million barrels per day, with a drop of 0.8% in one month and 0.9% in one year, according to the regulator’s report.

Meanwhile, shared production and license-type contracts, in association with Pemex or that are operated solely by private companies, have an annual average of 134,870 barrels per day, which implies an increase of 15% in relation to the same period of 2020 .
