Cristóbal Muñoz, Chef of the Year, and Mireia Riba, Waitress of the Year

  • The chef of the Ambivium restaurant (Peñafiel) and the waitress of the Bages 964 Oller del Mas restaurant (Manresa) have been the winners of two competitions

Chef Cristóbal Muñoz, from the Ambivium restaurant (Peñafiel, Valladolid) and the waitress Mireia Riba, from Bages 964 Oller del Mas restaurant (Manresa, Barcelona) have been the winners of the grand finale of the contests Chef of the Year and Waiter of the Year. The final of both contests took place this Thursday at the Alimentaria & Hostelco fair.

Muñoz has practiced his profession in the restaurants Las Cuevas de Sorbas, Tondeluna de Francis Paniego and Sofichic; and he has been assistant chef of the Production team of the Le Cordon Bleu school (Madrid) and, later, he has worked on the Alàbriga project, by Paco Pérez. Currently he is a chef in the team of Ambivium, restaurant of the Pago de Carraovejas winery.

On second place they have stayed Juan Pablo Stefanini, from the restaurant Venta Moncalvillo (La Rioja) and Áxel Symth, from the Auga e Sal restaurant (Santiago de Compostela).

The waitress Mireia Riba has passed with excellence a series of theoretical and practical tests such as draft beer, cocktails, table setting or the preparation of a coffee recipe, among others.

The young Catalan began her career as a professional in restaurants such as Panchito Sabadell, L’Obrador d’en Quim, 9Jutjat, L’O and El Raviolo; and in recent years she has worked in Àbac and currently she performs her work in the Bages restaurant 964 Oller del Masfrom Manresa.
