Credit union assets fall 3.5%


At the end of the fourth quarter of 2021, the balance of the total assets of the Credit Unions (UC) were located at 60,956 million pesos, which represented a real annual decrease of 3.5%, mainly due to the trajectory of the variation of the credit portfolio and investments in securities.

According to the National Baking and Stock Commission (CNBV), the credit portfolio had a balance of 47,041 million pesos, with a real reduction in the last year of 2.3 percent.

Likewise, investments in securities registered a balance of 6,457 million pesos with a real annual decrease of 10.5 percent.

49.1% of the assets of the sector were concentrated in five entities: Agricultores de Cuauhtémoc, Ficein, Industrial y Agropecuario de la Laguna, Alpura and Para la Contaduría Pública.

It should be noted that at the end of December 2021, the sector was made up of 78 entities in operation compared to 82 unions at the end of December 2020, which as a consequence of the revocations of Agrícola del Corepe, Industrial Comercial y de Servicios de Cancún , Integral del Golfo and Costa Esmeralda.
