Washington / Rome. Deborah Birx, Covid-19 coordinator at the White House during the past administration revealed to a subcommittee of the House of Representatives that the administration of President Donald Trump may have prevented the deaths of tens of thousands of people by acting effectively during the first weeks of the pandemic.
“I think that if we had fully implemented a campaign for the use of the mask, the reduction of events and we had carried out thousands of medical tests, we would probably have reduced the number of deaths between 30% and 40 percent.
Brix appeared on October 12 and 13.
Italy, third dose
The third dose of the vaccine against Covid 19 would be accessible to the entire Italian population from January, declared yesterday the Deputy Minister of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri.
“It is probable that the third dose for all will begin (to be applied) from January,” he announced.
Currently, this booster application is reserved for patients with serious illnesses, those over 60 years of age and health personnel.
Italy has recorded nearly 132,000 deaths from Covid-19. To date, almost 44.5 million people have been vaccinated, 82.3% of the population over 12 years of age, and 1.1 million people have received a third dose.
