COVID-19 update: Quebec reports one more death

Quebec reported that one more death had been attributed to COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the province’s death toll to 15,489.

The province has averaged six deaths per day over the last week.

Additionally, the province reported that 480 more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed through PCR testing at its clinics. Insofar as this method of testing is not accessible to most Quebecers, the case numbers are not wholly representative of the situation in the province.

Quebec is no longer reporting hospitalizations on Mondays.

On Saturday, when hospitalization data was last reported, the number of patients with COVID-19 had risen by 24 to 1,025. Of those patients, 20 were in intensive care.

On Sunday, Quebec administered 2,078 vaccine doses.

Since the start of its vaccination campaign, the province has received 23,087,205 doses of which it has administered 19,976,027.
