The five-minute long video begins with a Star Wars-style introduction portraying variants of COVID-19 as the enemy that “rogue healthcare workers” are working to defeat and “restore order to the galaxy.”

The video continues with health care personnel dressed in PPE and dancing to Kelly Clarkson. What does not kill you makes you stronger.

BigDrumMedia produced the video, which according to acute care nurse director Sharon Griffin was a way to boost staff morale.

“There is so much bad news on the COVID front and our staff was very tired, this has been going on for a long time,” Griffin told Global News.

“The day we filmed it, I can honestly say that the things we saw that day were priceless. It was really nice to see all the staff in all areas, because we did this on one business day and just to see people smile and have fun doing something that felt completely ridiculous at the time. “

“It was really fun to see everyone smile and obviously get recognition of the message behind the video that they are working with great teams on a day-to-day basis and that together they make everyone stronger when they work together on the system.”

Griffin said the video has so far received positive response and even reached viewers outside of Prince Albert and outside of healthcare.

“We have even received comments from people who do not know us here, but whose sons or daughters work here and it makes them feel better that there are humans working in an area that has good support and that everyone is taking care of each other.”

Since then, the video has received close to 10,000 views.
