COVID-19 outbreak declared in Prince George’s hospital, 10 infected | The Canadian News

Health officials have declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Prince George’s University Hospital in Northern BC, where 10 people tested positive for the disease.

In a press release on Sunday, the Northern Health Authority said the outbreak affects nine patients and a staff member of the Primary Care Medical Unit.

The health authority said it was conducting further tests and monitoring to identify possible additional cases.

The hospital has implemented outbreak control measures, including limiting the movement of staff and patients between hospital areas and limiting the unit to only essential visitors, he said.

As of Friday, there were ongoing outbreaks at two other BC hospitals: Chilliwack General Hospital and Fort St. John Hospital.
