Ontario Medical Director of Health Dr. Kieran Moore said Thursday that a single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine would be made available and could be ordered through local public health agencies. “We think it is inferior to (vaccine) mRNA,” he said, adding, “but it is a tool that can be used in Ontario with the warnings of informed consent.” The vaccine will be available to those 18 years of age and older, those allergic to mRNA vaccines, or if requested by someone who has not yet been vaccinated.
