COVID-19: Nine more deaths, 749 new cases reported in British Columbia | The Canadian News

The British Columbia Center for Disease Control reported 749 new COVID-19 cases and nine more deaths on Thursday.

It is an interim update, the British Columbia government said, due to a late update of the data.

Of the new cases, 113 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 267 in Fraser Health, 157 in Interior Health, 148 in Northern Health, and 64 in Island Health.

Currently, 145 patients are in intensive care.

No new outbreaks were reported Thursday.

Health officials said that people who were not fully vaccinated accounted for 72 percent of all cases during the past week and 80.8 percent of cases in the hospital during the past two weeks.
