Covid-19 in Mexico: SSA registers 706 new infections and 12 deaths in the last 24 hours


The Ministry of Health reported 706 new cases of Covid-19 registered in the last 24 hours, so the accumulated number of infections amounted to 5 million 666,921 people who have been infected since the pandemic began in the country.

This Monday, the daily technical report on the progress of the coronavirus epidemic in Mexico details that the official death toll from this disease amounted to 323,235 deaths, after 12 new deaths were reported.

The federal agency explained that based on the percentage of positivity, 8,152 active cases are estimated at the national level, that is, people who have presented symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days.

The occupancy of general beds for the care of patients with the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus remains at 5%, while beds with ventilators for serious patients have an occupancy of 3 percent, according to data from the federal government. .

It should be remembered that given the reduction in infections and deaths, the Government of Mexico City last Friday withdrew the recommendation to use face masks in open spaces, especially in places where a healthy distance can be maintained.

The Secretary of Health of Mexico City, Oliva López Arellano, said on April 1 that among the measures in force to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the use of face masks is still recommended in closed places, as well as in places with little or poor ventilation and in places with crowds.

Vaccination against coronavirus in Mexico

The Ministry of Health reported that at the court on Sunday, April 3, they applied 37,499 vaccines against Covid-19to reach a total of 193 million 181,147 doses supplied nationwide since the vaccination plan began on December 24, 2020.

Of the 85 million 627,717 people vaccinated against the coronavirus in the country, 79 million 811,836 people have a complete schedule.
