COVID-19: hospitalizations down in Quebec


The Quebec report records 4 additional deaths and a decrease of 16 hospitalizations.

The situation in brief in Quebec:

  • 622 new cases, for a total of 1,052,637 people infected*;
  • 4 new deaths, for a total of 15,143 deaths;
  • 6,357 healthcare workers absent for reasons related to COVID (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
  • 1,910 hospitalizations, a decrease of 16 from the previous day;
    • 85 new entries,
    • 101 new releases;
  • 66 people in intensive care, number remained stable compared to the previous day;
    • 9 new entries,
    • 9 new releases;
  • 10,694 samples taken on May 7;
  • 205,281 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 168,046 positive: 255 declared for the day yesterday, including 208 positive.

*Remember that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.
