COVID-19: Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge Health Unit Reports 82% of Residents Fully Vaccinated – Peterborough | The Canadian News

More than 82 percent of eligible residents within the jurisdiction of the Haliburton District Health Unit, Kawartha, Pine Ridge are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to data released by the health unit.

In its weekly vaccination rate data released Monday night, the health unit, which serves the city of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County and Haliburton County, reported the following data:

All eligible residents (ages 12 and older):

  • Single dose: 86.7%, compared to 86.3% on October 11 (women 88.1%; men 85.1%)
  • Two doses (fully vaccinated): 82.3%, compared to 81.5% on October 11 (women 84%; men 80.3%)

Adults (over 18 years old):

  • A dose: 87.2%, compared to 86.7% on October 11 (women 88.5%; men 85.5%)
  • Two doses: 82.8%, compared to 82.1% on October 4 (women 85%; men 80.7%)

First dose received by residents:

  • During the last seven days: 627 (the first 544 doses were given in the previous week)
  • During the last four weeks: 3,191
  • To date: 148,983

Second dose received by residents:

  • During the last seven days: 1,478 (1,683 second doses were given in the previous week)
  • During the last four weeks: 7,550
  • To date: 141,340

Complete vaccination coverage rate by age group within the jurisdiction of the health unit:

  • 12-17 years: Approximately 74% (women 73.7%; men 73.8%)
  • Age 18-29: Approximately 70% (women 74.3%; men 65.8%)
  • 30-39 years: Approximately 80.7% (women 84.4%; men 76.9%)
  • 40-49 years: Approximately 85.4% (women 87.9%; men 82.3%)
  • 50-59 years: Approximately 78.3% (women 81.5%; men 75%)
  • Age 60-69: Approximately 91.5% (women 92.3%; men 90.7%)
  • Age 70-79: About 88.4% (women 86.5%; men 90.5%)
  • Age 80+: Approximately 80.5% (women 81.8%; men 78.2%)

As of Monday afternoon, the health unit reported 10 active cases of COVID-19 within its jurisdiction. No updates are posted on Tuesdays.

There are no active cases of COVID-19 in schools within the jurisdiction of the health unit as of Tuesday afternoon following the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington District School Board. reported a case settled at St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Cobourg.
