COVID-19 Deaths Reported on Consecutive Days in Ottawa – Ottawa | The Canadian News

A new COVID-19-related death had occurred in Ottawa for the second day in a row, the local public health unit reported Monday.

The new death follows another death on Sunday, bringing the death toll from COVID-19 to 606.

Ottawa Public Health reported 30 new cases of the virus locally on Monday, following increases of 46 cases on Sunday and 52 cases on Saturday.

Ottawa saw a slight increase in the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city in the latest report, to 284.

The weekly coronavirus positivity rate increased to two percent, up from 1.7 percent in the previous reporting period.

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 dropped slightly to 15 at the beginning of the week, down from 17 on Sunday. Currently, there are no COVID-19 patients included in the intensive care unit.

Two new COVID-19 outbreaks were added to the OPH dashboard on Monday, bringing the total number of ongoing outbreaks in the city to 19. Currently, ten schools are experiencing outbreaks of the virus.
