Corn falls after hitting highs


After reaching maximum levels on Monday, this Tuesday the international price of corn fell 1.27%, closing the day at 8.02 dollars per bushel.

Grain market prices closed mixed on the Chicago Stock Exchange.

The hardest hit futures were wheat futures, which fell 2.15% to end the session at 10.96 dollars per bushel.

Meanwhile, soybean futures increased 0.12%, reaching a level of 17.16 dollars per bushel.

US corn planting was 4% complete as of Sunday, below the five-year average of 6%, the US Department of Agriculture said.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected 5 percent.
