Senior Counsel Sean Chu remained the Calgary District 4 representative as of Tuesday morning.

There is the possibility of a recount if one of the candidates seeks one within 44 hours after the polls close.

The recount would take place on Thursday, according to counting officer Karen Martin.

Chu has been under fire after a CBC News story focusing on an internal misconduct investigation That was done when he was an officer with the Calgary Police Service in 1997.

The CBC story alleges that he had inappropriate contact with a minor.

Chu issued a statement in response to Sunday’s story: “As many of you may have heard, serious allegations against me are being made public based on a CBC News story that ran on Friday. These accusations misrepresent the truth of the matter and come at a time destined to hurt me the most in this campaign. “
