Colorful Journey Through Van Gogh’s Artwork Opening In Saskatoon – Saskatoon | The Canadian News

Art enthusiasts in Saskatoon have the opportunity to experience the work of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh through an “immersive” exhibition this fall.

Created by art directors Annabelle Mauger and Julien Baron, Imagine Van Gogh was first presented by Encore Productions in France, where it wowed audiences including Tandem Expositions President Paul Dupont-Hébert.

“I went to see him in Europe one day and decided to bring him (to North America). (It was) crazy because, at the time, I was thinking about retiring from show business and I went completely crazy, “he said.

“And since that, we have sold a million tickets, almost all in Canada. People come and go.

“It’s not going to change your day, it’s going to change your life because you don’t see things like that every day.”

Dupont-Hébert said the exhibit aims to provide a positive vision, “something that I think is magical” for Canadians amid what “has not been a happy period,” adding that COVID-19 security protocols are in place. “And in this pandemic period (COVID-19), we deal with distances, the number of people, wash our hands (and mask).”

Organizers said Imagine Van Gogh will be run in accordance with public health guidelines set by the Saskatchewan government.

The exhibition will be open to the general public from September 30 to November 7 at the Thatcher Avenue Warehouse, located across from the SaskTel Center.

“We need the size. We need to be very high. We need a lot of space … the experience requires a lot of square feet, 20, 25,000 square feet to enjoy it, ”said Dupont-Hébert.

“This is like a middle ground. Between a museum and maybe between cinemas, maybe between rock shows … it’s a wow factor. “

Organizers said this exhibition brings Van Gogh’s canvases to life through Image Totale technology as the public takes a journey through the artist’s “dream world.”

“It makes you… dream more because you don’t listen to anything other than the music that exactly matches the paintings. So it is totally immersive for what you see and hear. It’s a total experience, ”said Dupont-Hébert.

“In the end, the couples go hand in hand… You see a very warm and positive result, a romantic result.

“(The children too) dance … Life stops for half an hour.”

This is the first time that production has stopped in Saskatoon. He has also visited Montreal, Quebec City, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Edmonton.
