Cobourg Police Charge 2 Drivers In Separate Drunk Driving Incidents – Peterborough | The Canadian News

Cobourg police made a pair of drunk driving arrests Tuesday night.

Just before 9:45 p.m., Cobourg Police Service officers responded to a vehicle that had left University Avenue West at Margaret Street and collided with a tree. Police discovered that the vehicle had initially collided with another vehicle on the street and then backed into the tree near Cobourg Creek.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation determined that the driver was affected.

Natasha Little, 44, of Scarborough, was charged with driving while intoxicated (alcohol and drugs) and having care and control of a vehicle with available cannabis.

She was released with a future court date at Cobourg. Police did not provide a date.

Charged Transport Truck Driver

Earlier in the evening, officers responded to a request to verify the driver of a parked transport truck with the engine running in the Elgin St. West area.

Police determined that the driver was affected.

Brian Konink, 55, of Smith Falls, Ontario, was arrested and charged with two counts of drunk driving (alcohol and drugs and a blood alcohol concentration over 80).

He was released with a future court date at Cobourg. No date was provided.
