According to PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, the approach of Justin Trudeau’s government is “definitely intentional”.

“We can close Roxham Road, because we did it during the pandemic, and, intentionally, as soon as we have the chance, the federal government opens this road, which places Quebec in an impossible situation in the level of planning, reception issues, language issues, resource issues. So, let’s ask the question: […] What is Justin Trudeau’s intention? he launched Tuesday, at a press conference at the National Assembly.

PQ MP Pascal Bérubé recalls that Quebec receives nearly 95% of illegal immigration from Canada because Roxham Road leads irregular migrants directly to our territory.

Why is it happening in Quebec? Obviously, there is no sensitivity with regard to integration capacities and then to French. He doesn’t give a fuck, okay?” he cursed.

The Member for Matane-Matapédia is calling for the closure of Roxham Road. According to him, another illegal access route to the country should rather be directed towards Ontario, “which has a multiculturalist project”.

“If it’s illegal, why do we accept it? Why we are at 7000 [migrants irréguliers] at the end of March, then we will reach almost 30,000 by the end of the year? With this pace, Quebec is not able to properly and with dignity welcome these people, ”he denounces.
