Closure Implemented at Bath Institution During Contraband Search – Kingston | The Canadian News

There is a lockdown at the medium security Bath institution, according to the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).

CSC says lockdown procedures were put in place after an alleged abandonment of smuggling.

Prison officials say the closure began Thursday night to allow correctional officials to conduct a search at the prison.

Visits to the institution have been suspended while the search continues.

CSC says these actions are part of a larger effort to keep contraband out of Canadian prisons.
