The Barcelona International Architecture Film Festival returns (nothing strange, because the first edition, in 2021, took off like a rocket) BARQ), this time with seven feature films in competition, three out of competition and 12 shorts, which, seen from abroad, several of them (thanks Pep Martín), it can be stated emphatically here and now that they are part of the best cultural menu that can be tasted between May 11 and 15 in Barcelona. Those same days will also be viewable in filmin, that wonderful cinematographic pantry that, if it were a grocery store, would be the old Colmado Quílez before commercial gentrification jibarized that establishment. The comparison will seem taken by the hair, but it is that the BARQ it is not, let it be clear in advance, a festival dedicated to glossing the figure of architects and forgiving some of their divisivenessbut to look at that discipline, architecture, from every conceivable perspective, gentrification among themof course, but many more too.
