The National Concerted Operation (ONC) Distraction 2021 is supported by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ). This year it takes place under the theme “Don’t let distraction blind you”.

In addition to cell phone use while driving, police officers will be interested in the use of any portable electronic device or display screen while people are driving.

“Distracted driving is one of the main causes of fatal or serious injury crashes in Quebec. A distracted driver may not see up to 50% of the information in their surroundings. He looks without seeing what is happening. So, distracted driving is like driving blindfolded, or semi-blindfolded. Would you do it? ”The partners asked in a statement on Friday, on the first day of the National Concerted Operation (ONC) Distraction 2021.
