CCE foresees the recovery of 7,000 jobs in Puebla

Puebla, Pue. The Business Coordinating Council (CCE) estimated that to recover at least 7,000 of the 15,000 jobs that were lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to make investments of 4,000 million pesos in the remainder of this year.

Ignacio Alarcón Rodríguez Pacheco, president of the organization, explained that the sectors that could contribute are restaurant, housing and commercial because they are the easiest to trigger short-term projects, unlike the industry that requires greater strategic planning.

He indicated that partners of Canadevi, CMIC and Canirac have projects to expand housing complexes or establishments, but they have not yet been defined due to the context of economic uncertainty as a result of the inflationary effect.

He commented that “investors are in the best disposition, but they also do not see fiscal support to take the step, since in the case of Puebla it would be necessary for the incentives to be in the Payroll Tax (ISN), the one that most hits entrepreneurs ”.

“Paying 3% of this tax becomes a significant burden, both for jobs generated in construction works and in hiring personnel, when some businesses start operations,” said the businessman.

He pointed out that they cannot affirm as an organization that they will recover the 15,000 jobs lost because there are still no economic conditions, despite the fact that authorities say that the reactivation is underway.

However, he said that the entrepreneurs of the three sectors mentioned would invest in the remainder of the year, in order to recover 7,000 jobs.
