Fortnite now supports 120 fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S

Epic Games has implemented 120 fps support for Fortnite on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. The popular Battle Royale game already featured 4K / 60fps on the new consoles when they launched this month, but they now run at an even higher frame rate if you have a TV that supports 120Hz. You can enable '120FPS Mode' in the game's video settings, although doing so will limit the resolution to 1440p on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Also, "shadow settings, post-processing, and transmission distances are slightly reduced" from this way, according to Epic. On the less powerful S Series, the resolution is capped at 1080p when 120fps is enabled. On the other hand, the base resolution has defaulted to 1200p when 120fps is off; previously, it w...

Microsoft’s The Initiative is creating a new Perfect Dark game

We finally know what The Initiative is working on. The Microsoft studio based in Santa Monica, California, is developing a new entry in the iconic Rare Perfect dark Serie. During The Game Awards a brief reveal preview of the next game was shown. There has been no new entry in the Perfect dark series from Perfect Dark Zero released alongside the Xbox 360 in 2005. While that particular title was not well received, Perfect dark for Nintendo 64 it is revered as a genre-defining console first-person shooter. This announcement confirmed rumors that The Initiative has been developing a new entry in the series for the past few years. Unsurprisingly, little is known about the game so far. It's unclear if it's targeting all Xbox consol...

Here are some tips on how to get PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S in Canada

This holiday season, three of the newest tech products are Sony's PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series X and S. However, as is often the case with these kinds of things, the demand far exceeds the supply. Therefore, consoles often sell out within a few minutes of being online at retailers' websites. With that said, you can adopt a few strategies to (hopefully) increase your chances of getting a console. See below some of these options: Don't gamble on store purchases This is perhaps the most obvious, but given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and widespread closures / restrictions across the country, you're unlikely to get consoles in stores. For the most part, major retailers like Walmart, Best Buy Canada EB Games have only restocked the consoles on their websites. Follow the r...

Xbox players can play Cyberpunk one day early due to region change

A handful of Xbox gamers have found that if you change your Xbox console's locale to New Zealand, you can play Cyberpunk 2077 a day earlier. This seems to work on the new Xbox Series X / Series S and older Xbox One generation consoles as well. If you want to try the trick for yourself, you need to press the Xbox Guide button and open the Console Settings page. From there select 'System' and then 'language and location'. You can then set your region to New Zealand and hit 'Restart Now'. When the console restarts, it must be configured in New Zealand. This allows you to play a bit before the long-awaited new RPG from CD Projekt Red. The wait is almost over. If you are looking to play # Cyberpunk2077 as soon as it's available, her...

Halo Infinite Gets New Fall 2021 Release Window

Infinite Halo, Microsoft's single-launch title Xbox Series X / S, will now officially launch in Fall 2021, according to a blog post published by 343 Industries. The game was originally scheduled to launch in November but was delayed in August due to the development challenges surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the outright negative reaction to the game's simplistic and throwback visuals (check out the hilarious Craig memes). It is not clear specifically when Infinite Halo will be released in the fall. That said, the game could end up being delayed for a full year after its original scheduled release. In the blog post, Joseph Staten, creative director of 343 Industries, writes that the studio aims to create the "most engaging Halo game of all time." Staten then says Hal...

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla moves the series forward and slows it down at the same time

I've always had an interesting relationship with him Assassin's creed Serie. When a new game in the franchise is announced, I often get very excited, especially when the historical setting is particularly appealing to my liking. Most of the time, this gets me caught up in the pre-launch hype, only to finally be disappointed when I get my hands on the game. For example, recall the large-scale battles in the pre-release trailers for Assassin's Creed III? Those technically didn't appear in the franchise until Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Although I was surprised by how much fun I had during my time with Odyssey, his description of ancient Greece never really connected with me. This was partly because I had never been so interested in ancient Greece. On the other hand, Valhalla It is in m...

Xbox Series X Game Review Roundup: Gears 5, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, NBA 2K21, and More

Given the compressed nature of the Xbox Series X review program, we were unfortunately unable to gather in-depth analysis of every game release for Microsoft's new video game console. Like our roundup of the PlayStation 5 launch titles, we've decided to give a selection from the Xbox Series X launch line the same mini-review treatment. In addition to taking a look at Xbox Series X backward compatibility features, this story also delves into titles such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, The Falconeer, Halo: The Masterchief Collection and more. It's important to note that not all of these games are exclusive to Microsoft's new consoles and that performance is generally comparable on the PlayStation 5 when it comes to most of the third-party titles on this list. Assassin's Creed Valh...
