Toyota works on a battery platform and an all-electric SUV
Toyota is fully advancing its electric vehicle goals with the promise of a new SUV EV and plans to produce more than five million electric vehicles per year.
While the Prius might be synonymous with being green, Toyota hasn't been pushing fully electric cars as hard as companies like Volkswagen and GM. All of that appears to be about to change as the automaker begins testing an all-electric SUV built on the modular e-TNGA platform that it plans to launch next year.
So far, the company has only published the outline of its SUV EV, but it looks sporty with lines similar to the 2021 Toyota Venza crossover.
