Manitoba makes bid to become CFL hub

The province of Manitoba is preparing to throw money at the Canadian Football League, hoping for a positive reception.Premier Brian Pallister on Monday announced a $2.5-million pledge to the CFL that would help the league pay for meals, transportation, practice field rentals and accommodations at Winnipeg hotels if the provincial capital is chosen as a hub city for a truncated 2020 season.
