City of Toronto offers use of facilities and rooms for school boards – The Canadian News

The City of Toronto has offered the Toronto District and Toronto Catholic District School Boards access to space on city facilities as part of its plan to reopen schools. In a letter to the education director of both school boards, City Manager Chris Murrary says they will be able to offer 36 rooms in 24 facilities that could be available by Sept. 8. The potential use of space by boards of directors would not disrupt city programming. The letter indicates that the boards had requested access to city spaces and city staff have been working to identify community centers, libraries, museums and other cultural centers that could be used. Toronto Catholic school board seeks parents’ input on school reopening plan – CityNews Toronto

The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) is asking parents to weigh in on one of the province’s three scenarios for the reopening of schools in the fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In a letter to parents on Monday, the board said it is looking at the Ministry of Education’s three scenarios:“(a) full daily return with enhanced safety measures (b) adaptive model – partial daily return with distance learning (c) full-time distance learning”  Last month, Premier Doug Ford said that with different areas of the province at different stages of reopening, the same should apply to school boards, so there won’t be a one-size-fits-all approach in schools.
