Demonstration for man who died in Ontario jail after no charges were filed

Soleiman Faqiri's family is holding a demonstration on Saturday to demand responsibility after the OPP refused to press charges against anyone involved in Faqiri's death. Faqiri, who had schizophrenia, died while waiting for a transfer from Central East Correctional Center in Lindsay, Ontario, to a mental health facility on December 15, 2016. His family says a coroner's report indicated that he was found with dozens of injuries, including 50 bruises and blunt trauma. The City of Kawartha Lakes conducted the initial investigation and refused to press charges against the correctional officers allegedly involved.
