Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra ‘Silicon Cover with S Pen’ bundle costs $ 69

When Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra was first announced, it was unclear exactly how much the smartphone's 'Silicone Case with S Pen' bundle would cost. Although we don't have an official release date yet, the accessory pair is currently on sale for $ 69 (normal price is $ 99). While the package is available to pre-order now, it won't start shipping until January 26. It also looks like the S Pen will be sold only without the case according to Samsung website. That said, prices are not included yet. The S21 Ultra is the first smartphone in the Samsung S series to feature S Pen support. While using a stylus with the device works great, Bluetooth functionality such as 'Air Gestures' is not supported. It's also worth noting that while t...

Samsung Display to start manufacturing 90Hz OLED laptop screens in March

Samsung's display division announced plans to make the world's "first" 90Hz OLED panels for laptops. in a Press release, Joo Sun Choi, CEO of Samsung Display, said that the company will start producing large quantities of 14-inch 90Hz OLED panels in March. However, it is unclear what resolution or aspect ratio the displays will have, or if Samsung Display will make a variety of resolutions and aspect ratios in the 14-inch size. Even if the company does go for normal 16: 9 1080p panels, those are quite a popular format. Additionally, gamers will likely enjoy the new panels, which will offer a combination of excellent OLED screen quality with the higher refresh rates preferred for gaming. Many PC gamers own 120Hz and 144Hz monitors...

The program provides students with a fully functioning appliance and digital service lab on Centennial's Progress Campus. Additionally, students learn about mobile app development and appliance specialty training, while also offering the opportunity...

Samsung Korea brings ‘sexy back’ with retro mobile phone headphone cases

Sometimes companies do nice things. On January 14, Samsung introduced its latest pair of truly wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Pro. But what Samsung didn't bring to the main stage of its Unpacked event was its new retro cell phone-like charging case. The cell phone-themed Samsung Anycall T100 or Anycall E700 headphone charging cases scream nostalgia and should bring back memories to a lot of '90s kids - well, at least those who owned cell phones back then. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Samsung is bringing these trendy cases to Canada. And you'll want to head to a retailer in South Korea to get the accessory for free with the purchase of the Galaxy Buds Pro. Reportedly, some outlets sell it as a gift with the purchase of t...

Samsung’s first update for the Galaxy Buds Pro is now available

Even though it only dropped last week, Samsung has already released the first update for Galaxy Buds Pro. The new update includes "left / right sound balance adjustment", a new "hearing enhancement feature", better overall "stability and reliability" and more. The full update is only 2.2MB according to Samsung's update page. While I'm impressed with Buds Pro's unique voice detection and active noise cancellation feature that lets you hear someone speaking even with ANC on, I found them surprisingly uncomfortable. I also find it odd that Samsung has removed iOS support via the Galaxy Buds app with Buds Pro. To learn more about the Galaxy Buds Pro, check out my review of Samsung's earbuds that purport to be the South Korean tech gi...

Samsung is already slashing the price of the Galaxy S20 series in Canada

Not even a full week has passed since the reveal of the Galaxy S21 series and Samsung is already discounting the cost of its S20 series, including the already more affordable S20 FE. At Samsung Experience Store, you can buy the Galaxy S20 FE, S20 + and S20 Ultra at a lower price; currently the base S20 is out of stock. It's unclear how long this sale will last, but this may be the regular cost of the phones until they go out of circulation. The S20 FE costs $ 764.99 but normally costs $ 949.99. It's worth noting that this probably should have been the cost of the S20 in the first place, considering the price of the device in the United States. The S20 + is priced at $ 1,349.99, saving consumers $ 230 since the original cost of t...

Samsung heir returned to prison for two and a half years on bribery charges

Samsung's heir Jay Y. Lee will be sent back to prison for two and a half years on bribery charges. Bloomberg reports that this latest decision closes a legal battle that began four years ago. In 2017, Lee was sentenced to prison for five years, but was released after a year once his sentence was suspended on appeal. The South Korean Supreme Court overturned the decision in August 2019 and ordered a new trial and this sentence is the result of that new trial. At the final hearing, Lee promised to create a "new Samsung" and not repeat the wrongdoings of the past. Lee was found guilty of using his wealth to influence former South Korean president Park Geun-Hye in various of Samsung's business interests. This includes a merger of ...

What do you think of Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 series?

Last week, Samsung's Galaxy S21 series was revealed, including the S21, S21 +, and S21 Ultra. The S21 Ultra features top-of-the-line specs, including a WQHD + display, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 888 chipset, and up to 16GB of RAM. The S21 and S21 +, on the other hand, aren't that high-end in comparison, but they still sport the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor and a 120Hz refresh rate. To me, the S21 and S21 + don't seem as good as last year's S20 and S20 +, but the S21 Ultra will probably end up being the phone to beat in 2021, unlike last year's S20 Ultra. That said, the S21 series is also more affordable than the S20 series, so in a sense it makes sense for the S21 and S21 + to feature some minor do...

Samsung’s rugged Galaxy Tab Active3 is now available in Canada

Samsung's Galaxy Tab Active3, a rugged tablet that features a replaceable battery and a waterproof S Pen, is available now. Interestingly, the company opted to add a removable 5,050 mAh battery that can be switched on the fly, so users don't need to wait for the Tab Active3 to charge to use it again. While I doubt this feature will reach consumer phones or tablets anytime soon, it's nice to know that some devices still get that edge. Other cool features include gloved tablet use and a camera barcode scanner designed for retailers. The tablet costs $ 799 and you can order it now on Samsung's website. However, when you navigate to the website, it only says 'Sales Inquiry', so it's unclear how easy it is for regular customers to get ...

Samsung offers some Galaxy S21 + and S21 Ultra color variants exclusively through its own store

While Samsung's recently revealed S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra are available in a wide variety of colors, two shades that interest me, 'Phantom Violet' and 'Phantom Pink, are only available exclusively through the company's own store. company and specific S. Serial devices. The situation regarding which versions of the S21 are available in which stores is a bit confusing, so I broke it down below: The 128GB Samsung Galaxy S21 is available in 'Phantom White', 'Phantom Gray', 'Phantom Violet' and 'Phantom Pink'. The 256GB S21 is only available in 'Phantom Gray'. These color variants are available from most vendors and Samsung Experience Stores.
