Ontario school boards now have the option of having a staggered start to the new school year, according to a government memo released Tuesday. “We are pleased to announce that the boards may stagger their reopening during the first two weeks of school where this approach would improve health and safety readiness,” said Education Minister Stephen Lecce. He said this tiered approach will allow boards the option of having different grades to return on different days. Lecce added that this will help students adapt to new health and safety practices due to the coronavirus pandemic.
