Leaked OnePlus 9 Pro Renders Reveal First Look at Next Device

Leaked versions of the upcoming OnePlus 9 Pro suggest that the device will adopt the OnePlus 8T design but retain a curved screen. OnLeaks has released initial versions of the OnePlus 9 Pro, showing that the manufacturer may have chosen to merge the designs of the 8 Pro and the 8T. The OnePlus 9 Pro seems to keep the basic front design with a left-mounted, curved hole-punch display. However, unlike the OnePlus 8 Pro, this device will swap the centered camera for one mounted on the left side, just like the 8T. The device will reportedly have four camera sensors similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with metal rings around the two main lenses. Also, the leak suggests that the phone houses a 6.7-inch curved screen. The back of...

OnePlus Nord N10 5G Review: Not the Nord I’m Looking for

OnePlus has expanded its low-cost Nord lineup with the new N10 5G, but the second Nord phone is not the cost-effective mid-range phone that its big brother was. While this summer's Nord proved that a great phone can cost $ 600, the new N10 demonstrates which corners shouldn't be cut out when making a budget phone. When it comes to low-cost devices, the Nord N10 5G is fine, but compared to the excellent OnePlus Nord, it's a considerable disappointment. What makes this a Norse?OnePlus is making big moves by launching two new low-cost phones in the UK, with availability in North America coming at a later date. However, these phones are not worth waiting for as they don't offer much that is not covered by current low-cost phones on the North American market. The N10 5G includes an oc...

OnePlus’ fourth Nord model will include the subtitle ‘SE’

OnePlus hasn't even finished releasing all of its Nord-branded phones as of 2020, but it looks like it's working on another model for 2021. So far, the company has launched the extremely well-regarded Nord, and is following it up with two lower-cost phones called the Nord N10 5G and Nord N100. Now the Nord SE has been leaked courtesy of Android Central. The post says the phone will feature an AMOLED screen and the OnePlus 8T's ultra-fast Warp Charge 65 technology and a 4,500 mAh battery. These are all impressive specs, but with mid-to-low-range phones, it's less about the hardware they feature and more about the specific corners that the smartphone maker decided to eliminate. For example, while the first Nord was an excellent devi...

OnePlus 8/8 Pro Android 11 update stopped due to erased phones

OnePlus has halted the release of its latest OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro OxygenOS 11 Open Beta update over concerns that the update is wiping out users' devices. On November 8, reports began to appear that some OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro units on the Open Beta channel were being shipped stable builds of OxygenOS 11, which in turn erased users' phones during installation. OnePlus generally runs three software channels: a closed beta, an open beta, and a stable channel. Moving between the Open Beta and Stable channels is easy enough, but it clears a user's phone in the process for some reason. Some users of the Open Beta program still receive the correct software builds. So if you've downloaded the update and it says Open Beta, it's probably saf...

Rumored OnePlus Smartwatch Won’t Use Google’s Wear OS

The OnePlus smartwatch will reportedly not use Google's Wear OS platform, reportedly often reliable leaks Max J. The company is rumored to be working on a smartwatch for quite some time, but new evidence suggests it could be launched soon. It's a bit surprising that the OnePlus watch doesn't use Wear OS, given the company's ties to Google and the Android platform. Wear OS is essentially the platform used by manufacturers who cannot create their own from scratch. It is used by companies like Fossil, Mobvoi, and Oppo. With this latest leak, it is unknown what to expect with the OnePlus watch. It will still be paired with OnePlus' Android smartphones, but we don't know anything about the operating system it will include. Some manuf...

OnePlus Shares Top Seven ‘IDEAS’ Introductions That Could Come To Your Phone

OnePlus runs a neat 'IDEAS' program where the company asks users for new feature ideas to implement in its Oxygen OS software that runs on top of Android. The China-based phone maker announced the seven most liked ideas of Round 2 of your IDEAS program. This new idea will go to the OnePlus OS team for review and evaluation. The team will respond to each of the seven ideas on November 6 detailing whether the idea will be implemented in Oxygen OS. If your idea didn't make the cut, OnePlus too announced that Round 3 is starting. Users can go to the Community Ideas site to submit their ideas. Below are the seven proposed ideas the OnePlus OS team is considering:Independent volume control for each dual media application / playback...

OnePlus Buds Z headphones deliver huge sound at a low cost

I finally have a few days to spend with the OnePlus Buds Z, and they are astonishingly cool. These inexpensive buttons are surprisingly comfortable, offer a fun sound profile, and come in a charging case that's roughly the same size and design as the one included with Samsung's Galaxy Buds +. After falling in love with the OnePlus buttons in July, I wasn't sure how a lower-cost model could beat the already inexpensive OnePlus Buds, but these new buttons from the company make me eat those words. While on paper, the $ 70 Buds Z may look worse than the $ 109 OnePlus Buds (which are currently on sale for $ 80), they are super comparable in practice, so it really comes down to which set feels best in your ears. So how do they compare? The OnePlus Buds Z look a lot like the older Buds, but ...

OnePlus app allows all Android phones to update / customize OnePlus Buds

OnePlus has a new application in early access called 'Hey melody'which allows other Android device users to update and customize their OnePlus branded headphones. When OnePlus first released the excellent OnePlus Buds, their main problem was that it was necessary to connect the headphones to a OnePlus phone to get the most out of them. This included customizing what the touchpads on each headset do and updating the headset's firmware. While the HeyMelody app says OnePlus developed it, you can use it for the OnePlus and Oppo headphones once you open the app. The app is still in early access, so ideally more features will be added in the future. The newer OnePlus Buds Z are included in HeyMelody, but older models like the Bullets ...

OnePlus Announces New Nord N10 5G, N100 Coming to North America

OnePlus announced two new Nord smartphones that will be heading to North America. The company outlined its new devices to bring the fast and smooth OnePlus experience at a more affordable price. Given how much people liked the first OnePlus Nord that arrived earlier this year, it's no surprise that the company is expanding the line with new phones in more countries. For starters, there are two new Nord phones on the way: the N10 5G and the N100. The Nord N10 5G will be the more expensive of the two phones, with a 6.49-inch FHD + 90Hz display, 'Warp Charge', a four-camera setup, and more. The N10 5G runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 690 chipset, has a 4,300 mAh battery, and uses the company's proprietary Warp Charge 30T, which debuted...
