What is your favorite smartphone that launched this year in Canada?

In 2020, several companies released various phones that varied in features and prices, including smartphones from Samsung, Apple, LG, and Google. This year we have Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 2, Apple's iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, as well as LG's V60 ThinQ, Velvet, OnePlus' 8 Pro and 8T, Huawei's P40 Pro, Google Pixel. 5 and many more. I'd say my favorite flagship this year is the Pixel 5 or Samsung's Galaxy S20 +. However, the LG Velvet features a great design, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 (which I haven't worked with yet) offers what some reviewers have said might be the best foldable smartphone experience yet. Now that we are reaching the end of the year and we do not expect to see any more ...

OnePlus to remove Facebook bloatware from 8T

OnePlus is ditching Facebook bloatware from the OnePlus 8T after it came under fire for pre-installing Facebook apps and services on OnePlus Nord and Series 8. The China-based company said Entry the news, and it means OnePlus will only pre-install Google, OnePlus, and Netflix on Q8. Users did not appreciate how Facebook apps cluttered the OxygenOS software and would reportedly use small amounts of data in the background. Additionally, Android Police reported that users could uninstall the Nord and 8 series Messenger and Instagram apps, but services like Facebook App Installer and App Manager couldn't be completely removed. Still, Netflix comes pre-installed on OnePlus smartphones to allow for HDR optimizations, according to OnePlu...

OnePlus 8T review: Is the perfect phone too late?

2020 is stacking up to be OnePlus's best year yet as the company follows the very well-reviewed Nord and OnePlus 8 series with the new 8T. The phone takes everything I liked about the 8 Pro, adds a few more features, and then packages it in a case that is a cross between the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 7T. While this sounds like a recipe for success, there are some roadblocks. The only problem I have with the phone is related to its cost. If money isn't an issue, then you'll be happy with this device, but several other lower-cost options this year might make you think twice about paying $ 1,099 CAD for a powerhouse like the 8T. When I reviewed the OnePlus 8 series, I said that perfection was only a phone away, and the 8T almost proved me right. specsSimplicity works wondersOne...

Possible OnePlus 8T leaks on Slashleaks

A user on Slashleaks is claiming to have found the leaked specs for the alleged OnePlus 8T. While the user may have a good reputation on the leak database, this is the first we’ve heard of a OnePlus 8T this year, so take this one with a grain of salt. The leak mentions that the device has an eight-core processor with a base frequency of 1.80Ghz and that it’s going to be running Android 11. There isn’t much else in terms of specs, but the idea of a OnePlus 8T this year is intriguing since the company has been putting so much focus on its Nord line. For the last few years, OnePlus has been releasing a flagship phone and then following it up with a slightly changed second phone with T-branding. Last year the 7T was a cheaper version o...
