Walmart Canada confirms the launch of Apple Pay and Tap Payments in November

As we approach the fifth anniversary of Apple Pay in Canada, one of the major retailers is set to finally join touch payments and mobile wallets: Walmart Canada. Walmart Canada stores do not accept touch payments, but that will change soon. According to the retailer, it confirmed to iPhone in Canada Pay-per-touch from reader @Shawzborne will arrive in November, in a reply on Twitter. "Hello. Pay per touch is on the way and customers can expect to see it in stores in November." KFC Canada iOS App Now Accepts Apple Pay for In-App Payments

KFC Canada for iOS has been updated to now support Apple Pay, allowing iPhone and iPad users to easily pay for orders made within the app without reaching for their credit card. The new update comes after KFC Canada added Face ID and Touch ID support earlier this month, to go with mobile ordering. Previously, ordering KFC was available only on the restaurant’s website. Earlier this year, KFC piloted Google’s online integration for faster ordering within Google search, Google Maps and also support for Google Assistant. iOS 14 to Let You Scan a QR code and Use Apple Pay: Report

9to5Mac has discovered deep inside the Wallet app in iOS 14 is an upcoming feature to let iPhone users scan a QR code, then pay with Apple Pay: “References found in the iOS 14 code reveal that Apple is working on a new method for letting users make payments with Apple Pay by scanning a QR Code or traditional barcode with the iPhone camera,” explains the site. The feature was accessible and hidden within iOS 14 beta 2 and doesn’t work when tested, but an image does show how the system will work.
