Catalonia will vaccinate those over 80 years of age with a fourth dose in the fall

The Department of Health will vaccinate people older than 80 years with a fourth dose of the vaccine from autumn. This was announced by the Minister Joseph Maria Argimon in the morning program of RTVE, ‘Cafè d’idees’. The person in charge has not specified a more specific date, but the moment is not trivial: the coronavirus has more incidence with the arrival of the cold. The ‘minister’ has also not specified what type of vaccine this group will be immunized with. “It is being studied,” he has indicated.

Argimon has been brief when it comes to giving details, but has stated that Salut works “mainly” in this age group, one of the most vulnerable. In this way, he has closed the option, for the time being, of applying the fourth dose of the vaccine to other age groups progressively.
