Travis Hamoni c, who the team acknowledged last week was not yet fully vaccinated, has been loaned again to Abbotsford Canucks, the team’s AHL affiliate.
In return, Jack Rathbone has been retired.
Abbotsford have two home games this weekend against the San Jose Barracuda, so Hamonic will at least stay in shape.
Because he is not yet considered to be fully vaccinated (it must have been two weeks after his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to be considered this way), Hamonic would have had to be quarantined for two weeks after returning from the trip for Canucks road through the United States, which will see them play games in Colorado (Thursday), Vegas (Saturday) and Anaheim (Sunday).
Meanwhile, Luke Schenn, who appeared to injure his right knee or leg in a blow along the side boards during his first inning in Friday’s 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators, has been placed on the list of injured reserves.

Canucks head coach Travis Green said Monday that Schenn was considering himself from week to week, but did not say what kind of injury the veteran defender is facing.
Rathbone or Brad Hunt, who has dressed only twice in the first 13 games, will draw in place of Schenn, who has been playing offside, left, in the third pair.
Green said Tuesday that Tyler Motte, who has been recovering from neck surgery, will join the team on the road trip and could make his season debut.
Sending Hamonic to the minors also creates enough cap space to activate Motte out of long-term injury reserve.
And next week, there will still be enough cap room to trade Hamonic and Rathbone again.
