Canceled flights, a first, a week after the eruption of the volcano in La Palma

Two new eruptive vents, from which lava flows, have opened at the level of the volcano on the island of La Palma in the Canaries. The volcano, which has erupted for a week, continues its business of devastation, already 420 buildings destroyed and 190 hectares covered. .

The eruption is now disrupting air traffic. For the first time, flights have been canceled, one from Madrid, the other six to neighboring islands, due to the large ash cloud released by the Cumbre Vieja volcano.

Authorities have ordered the evacuation of several neighborhoods in the city of El Paso, the largest on the island.
