The Canadiens announced Wednesday that center Christian Dvorak will be out indefinitely with a lower body injury.

Dvorak had already missed the last three games due to injury. The Canadiens said Dvorak will be monitored daily in the future, but there is no timetable for his return. In 27 games this season, Dvorak is 5-7-12 total and under-13.

The Canadiens also announced that Brendan Gallagher and Sami Niku are no longer on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol, but did not participate in Wednesday’s practice at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard. The Canadiens added that Gallagher and Niku, who entered the COVID protocol on Dec. 2, will participate in the “gradual return to exercise” and are expected to rejoin the team later this week.

Other players on the Canadiens’ disabled list, along with Dvorak, are Carey Price (knee), Shea Weber (foot), Joel Edmundson (back), Paul Byron (hip), Josh Anderson (upper body) and Tyler. Toffoli (hand). .
