Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on Friday morning, the team announced.

He is being monitored by Canadiens medical staff and will follow the protocols established by the National Hockey League and public health authorities.

Bergevin has been a general manager since 2012 and guided the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup final last season.
