It will be the first time in two years that the town has hosted the event.

“We are excited to be able to present live programming in Amherstburg again,” said Mayor Aldo DiCarlo. “Canada Day has always been a special tradition to celebrate in our community. We look forward to hosting Canada Day for our residents and visitors again.”

Festivities will begin with “the nation’s most patriotic run/walk,” the Canada D’Eh 5K Run.

Amherstburg’s Mighty Machines display will be open from 12 pm to 6 pm in Toddy Jones Park, along with a legacy mural project and free birthday cupcakes.

Starting at 6:30 pm, the town’s open air weekend continues downtown with a free concert in Kings Navy Yard Park. The headliner, Buck Twenty Band, takes the stage at 8:30 pm before a fireworks finale. Overflow crowds can also watch the fireworks at Fort Malden. Gates will open at 8 pm
